About Matt (From his LinkedIn profile):

I've had the good fortune over the past 15 years of helping to lead companies located at the center of the revolution in the financial services industry. I spent 2006-2015 at ETF.com (formerly IndexUniverse), starting as a freelance writer and gradually working my way up to CEO. As CEO, I helped guide the sale of ETF.com in three separate, highly successful transactions. Along the way, I had the opportunity to do some incredible things, including helping to create the world's first ETF ratings and analytics service (which now powers FactSet's ETF ratings), co-authoring the CFA Institute's monograph on ETFs, and appearing three times as a member of the Barron's ETF roundtable. I joined Informa following that company's acquisition of ETF.com's largest division, Events. At Informa, I helped extend Inside ETFs' position as the largest ETF conference in the world. I also had the opportunity to lead a team of amazing people in both the US and Europe spearheading some of the most innovative conferences in the world, including FundForum International and various Finovate events. I've now taken on a new role as the Global Head of Research at Bitwise Asset Management, creator of the world's first cryptocurrency index fund. In this role, I'm working on creating institutional-caliber frameworks for understanding, analyzing, evaluating, tracking and investing in the cryptoasset space. I feel lucky that I had the chance to work on ETFs as they grew from a novel idea to a $4 trillion market. While I don't expect crypto to follow exactly the same path, it's extremely exciting to be working once again on the development of a potentially massive new technology with important applications for the financial world. I live with my awesome family (including three kids) in sunny California.
